Ali began his career in TV before moving into the Defence sector as a Digital Consultant. He was seconded to the British Army Communications team to run their mental health campaigns, leading groundbreaking work using influencers and esports to drive utilisation of Army Mental Health services.
Ali began his career in TV, researching documentaries, before moving into the Defence sector as a Digital Consultant. He worked across a number of clients including the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, the RAF and others, before being seconded to the British Army Communications team to run their mental health campaigns.
Ali has won numerous comms awards, including Best Non-Profit Campaign with The Drum and Best Use of Social Media with Third Sector.
He set up @AliThomasGB, a history channel aimed at answering common questions and fighting nostalgia for the past. He currently has over 100,000 followers and 20 million annual views, and a range of partnerships with sector leaders.
He went on to work as a Senior Social Media Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, before creating More Than Content, seeing gaps in how organisations are building trust, running campaigns and missing opportunities. Now working at the intersection of creators, strategy and non-profits, he brings a unique perspective most people can't.
